Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Quaintforge (“the site,” “we,” “us”), the Cabot Trail guide and hotel catalogue at quaintforge.click, collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect very little: no user accounts, no ad-tracking network, and we do not sell personal data.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. If you email us via the address on the Contact page, we collect whatever you include in that message — typically your name, email address, and message content — solely to read and respond to your correspondence.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure logs basic technical information with each request — IP address, browser type, page requested, and timestamp — used for security and diagnosing technical problems. We do not currently run a third-party analytics platform.
Cookies and local storage. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser’s local storage. The route planner and the hotel search and filters run entirely in your browser; what you select or type there is not sent to us.
Your rights and how we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it with service providers who host this site or process email on our behalf, or where required by law. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you — contact us to exercise any of these rights.
Children’s privacy. This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Data retention. Correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary. Security. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold, though no method of transmission is 100% secure.
Third-party links, changes, and contact
This site links to Parks Canada, tourism boards, the hotels’ own websites, and other third-party resources; those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. We may update this policy from time to time and will update the date above when we do. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page.
Services your browser contacts
Google Fonts. The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address and the usual request details.
Hotel photos from Hotelbeds. Photos in the hotel catalogue load directly from the Hotelbeds photo servers (photos.hotelbeds.com), which receive your IP address and request details when a page with photos loads.
Maps. Hotel pages offer a Google map. It is not loaded automatically: your browser connects to Google Maps only after you click “Load map”. Links to maps open those services in a new tab under their own policies.
